The People Of Serenity Farm

Meet the people who make Serenity Farm special. Our team and volunteers bring experience, passion, and care to everything we do. Together, we create a welcoming space for learning, growth, and connection with animals.

Lucy Wheeler - Founder

Lucy Wheeler, MD, is the founder of Serenity Farm. She has over 20 years of experience in teaching and special needs education, working with children and adults with a wide range of developmental and learning challenges. Over the years, she has seen the powerful effect animals can have on emotional growth, social skills, and confidence. Her special interest in equine and animal-assisted therapy led her to create Serenity Farm as a place where people can connect with animals in a calm, structured setting. Lucy’s programs are designed to support learning, encourage independence, and build emotional resilience. She works closely with families, educators, and therapists to create experiences that meet the unique needs of each individual.

Mark Bradford - Volunteer

Mark Bradford has been a dedicated volunteer at Serenity Farm since 2019, giving his time three days a week. After 38 years of service as a Royal Air Force aircraft engineer, where he advanced to Warrant Officer and trained future engineers, Mark brought his leadership and practical skills to the farm. Starting with maintenance tasks, he overcame a lifelong fear of horses and now helps with the care and management of all the animals. Mark values the chance to meet visitors, see the positive impact of the farm, and stay connected to a sense of purpose after leaving military service. He enjoys working closely with Lucy and the team to keep the farm running smoothly and welcoming for everyone.
